A wine bar in Chiang Mai? Souvannaphoum is often translated as the golden land - this golden land is a wine bar inside the moat in Chiang Mai.
Cafe Souvannaphoum offers a selection of wines, and of course other beverages. It has a classy atmosphere, with trendy decoration. Comfortable seating and good music makes for a pleasant evening escape from the city.
Where is it?
This wine bar is inside the moat, just off Moon Muang. Coming from Loi Kroh, cross over the moat and carry on toward the center of town. Cafe Souvannaphoum Wine Bar and Lounge is not far along on the right hand side.
Wine Bar's are rare in Thailand! Very little wine is produced in thailand, which means it has to be imported from abroad, which means the import duties are passed on to the customer. Incidently there is some wine produced in Chiang Dao.

During my 5 weeks stay in Chiang Mai I spent every evening at last one hour in this very nice Wine Bar. After a busy or a lazy day it's the right place to chill out and enjoy some good wines at reasonable prices. I can highly recommend cafe souvannaphoum!!!!!
