The Olde Bell is a traditionally british pub on Loi Kroh road.

Chiang Mai Downtown Map

The Olde Bell offers guinness on tap, 3 TV's showing 2 different live sporting events, and a selection of daily english language newspapers.

How can you find it? Well, Loi Kroh is right in downtown Chiang Mai, running between the moat and the Night Bazaar. Unlike Thapae Road, Loi Kroh is lined with a wide variety of bars. The Olde Bell is on the left hand side if you are heading towards the night market, but closer to the moat end of the road. It's quite easy to miss though, so look out for the Bank of Ayuddthaya change booth which partly blocks the entrance.

With sofas, bar seating and restaurant seating, the Olde Bell offers a pleasantly relaxing atmosphere, allowing you to escape for a while from the Night Market or Loi Kroh.

The Olde Bell is like a piece of old England transplanted to Asia. It has great food and a good range of beers: try the Chimay Belgian trappist beer - expensive but boy does it slip down well! A must is the cheese selection - they advertise the best in town and it sure would take some beating. On the downside it is quite hard to find - as the official review says, look for the yellow ATM machine and its kind of behind it - well worth the search!
