The first at Royal Chiang Mai is a pleasant way to get the round started, with a par 4 that gently doglegs around to the left. You can't see the green from the tee, instead your view is of a couple of bunkers either side of the fairway. Big hitters should have few problems going over the left of the bunkers, but be careful not to go in it. Getting past the bunkers is a big plus, as it means you'll be able to hit a short iron or pitching wedge approach, allowing a high shot to go over the greenside bunkers. The green is slightly elevated and hidden behind several large bunkers so your view on the approach shot is limited. Once on the green there should be few problems - it is quite small with some gentle undulations.
