Tee Shot on Hole #1 at Gassan Khun Tan Golf Course
The first at Khun Tan is a sharp dog leg right. The fairway on the tee shot just gets wider the further you hit it. From an elevated tee a good shot is a joy to watch as it first carries over the river, and advances down the fairway. Thinking ahead to the approach shot, the tee shot becomes very important. Go to the left, and you'll be left with a very long approach. Go to the right, and you are flirting with danger in the lake. The ideal tee shot is long, as only if you go far enough will you open up a good view of the green.
No matter where you put your drive, you are unlikely to have a good view of the green. The green is elevated and with a back pin position, often the flag can be obscured by trees. Right from the first hole, you need to trust your caddy, and trust your club, as go to far and your in trouble, but go short and there is a trully evil bunker short of the green. THe green is fairly large, and slopes gently back towards the front.
