Tee Shot on Hole #8 at Chiang Mai Lamphun Golf Course
Again the tee shot needs to be threaded between trees to where the fairway opens out. Once your ball is past the trees there is water on the right, which is reachable for longer hitters, and also a water to catch shots that are wayward to the left. As the hole turns to the left there is a temptation to aim left, but the bunker and trees are positioned to trap any unlucky adventurous shots. The safe play is to advance down the fairway and leave a sight of the green for your second shot.

The approach needs to avoid bunkers to the left and the right of the green. Go too far left, or too far over the green and there is a creek that is definitely in play. As the bunker on the right bends in front of the green, players often aim long, which could leave your ball in the water.
Fortunately once you are on the green there is little danger, with few breaks to be found.
