The first of 3 courses opened by Gassan, and the pride resort is located nearly an hours drive south of the city, making it the perfect retreat to get away for some undisturbed golf. The resort boasts a hotel with swimming pool, bars, massage room and naturally a long 18 hole golf course. The course is just short of the Khuntan national park, surrounded by mountains. The course flanks the river Mae Ta as it approaches the impressive White Bridge. Because of the river and several lakes, water comes in to play on every hole. Your Chiang Mai golfing experience isn’t complete without a trip to Khun Tan.
Features
Gassan Khuntan Resort is a golfers dream. With water in play on every hole there are challenges, and rewards, for all players. There are several island greens, none more foreboding than the 5th, a par 3 to a small island green, set in front of the backdrop of the famous white bridge. The beauty of the Khuntan valley is unquestionable and the golf course is situated perfectly. The final hole plays back to the impressive clubhouse – playing over the water, you need to have the right club to stay on a narrow green.

Location
To get to Gassan Khuntan Golf Course you need to head south from Chiang Mai to the Khuntan National Park. Take the main highway 11 for around 40km from the outer ring road in the direction of Lampang. After passing Lamphun, the road passes into the mountains with some twists and turns. You won’t miss the sign to turn left into Khuntan valley for a few kilometers until you get to the resort. It takes around an hour from Chiang Mai to get to the course – with a hotel on site, you might want to stay over!
